about the artist...
christina matalon is classically trained and grounded in the traditions of abstract art. however her aesthetic explores the figurative and traditional through a modern lens. in this exhibition matalon focuses on portraits of female characters with the intent of displaying her subject's unique features with the fluidity of her gestures while highlighting unexpected beauty within the face and body.
