dal la cocina paulanna
fichi e prosciutto
for mother's day i was given a fig tree. i wanted a white fig tree because my neighbor's have a black fig tree (and i pick it all the time.) the fig tree i was given was a kadoda. it is so beautiful. it produces the earliest fig of the season.
on mother's day i took my mother out to my vegetable garden with my grand daughter and son and let my mother pick the first fig. after she bit into it she said "this is the fig first fig tree your grandfather planted when we came to the U.S. from Italy."
in the photo above are the figs from my tree wrapped with prosciutto, surrounded by Italian cucumbers topped with gorgonzola. delish!

london calling
paulanna's nephew peter lives the life over in london. or more specifically he lives the life in a HOUSE BOAT in london. how cool is that?! we just received some images from the young lad's parents who visited and had the most wonderful time. take a peak. (small photos by john backus)
(silly) inspiration
doesn't this just make you giggle?! mom always said don't play with your food, but when it looks this cute how can you get mad?! via breakfast project.

inspiration
these beautiful interior images were found via desire to inspire (although, i am not sure if the image with the industrial coffee table is from their blog, might be from another source. sorry for not knowing. if you know - speak up!) we love the use of colors, objects and space. your home can be so inspiring if you just treat it like art...
